On 2017-03-04, the Detectives of Seymour received information about a member of the community selling dagga. The house of the suspect was searched and Dagga to an estimated value of +- R5000 .00 was recovered. A male aged 54 years was arrested and charged with possession of dagga . He appeared in court on Monday and pleaded guilty of the charges. He was found guilty of the charge and was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment or to pay a fine of R2000.00 rand. The suspect is now out as he has opted to pay the R2000.00 fine.
On 03March2017 the Fort Beaufort Crime Intelligence and Crime Prevention had an operation. During the operation a certain house at Newtown was searched and Mandrax to the value of R13 000.00, dagga to the value of R900.00 were recovered. Two suspects a female aged 34 and a male aged 53 were arrested and charged with possession of dagga.
