The Abahlali 4 Pre-Trial Hearing 

Yesterday the Abahlali 4 took to the stand after they were denied bail for the murder of a man they suspected to be from the Amapharapara Gang in the Location.

The Abahlali is a group of people who the community calls on when crimes are committed in the area. This group of people a source says ‘deals with people who commit crimes in the community, they punish them by brutally beating their suspects, in aiming at teaching them a lesson. 

Sadly a young man lost his life as a result of the Abahlali taking the law in their own hands. A source says they took the young man from his house tied him with wire; they then took him to the white bridge and beat the man with sjamboks, bats and other objects. The man was dragged bleeding and begging for his life back to the Location he and later died as a result of the injuries he suffered. 
The 1st suspect from the Abahlali Group took to the stand yesterday, and denied being part of the events that led up to the death of the deceased. 

The case continues as the 3 more suspects are still to take to the stand. We will keep you informed.

The Drug Bust Case Continued

Amanda Klaasen and Father David Cramford took to the stand yesterday for their Bail Application Hearing at the Fort Beaufort Magistrate Court. 

The 2 were arrested and Charged 2 weeks ago, for possession and dealing of Mandrax and Dagga to the value of R18 000. Amanda Klaasen has a previous conviction of the same nature and was found with drugs to the value of R20 000.

The Magistrate denied the father and daughter bail and they will appear on the 20th March 2017 for their Pre Trail Hearing in the Fort Beaufort Magistrate Court.
